WSE Phase-out message
AEC Daily will shut down the www.csiwse.org site on July 30, 2010. If you are using CSIWSE to host your chapter or region website, you will need to plan to move your website to another host.

We recommend you take the following steps in early July:
  • Survey your website in the www.csiwse.org system and determine what information you want to save from it
  • Make copies of this information - including text and pictures
There are a few software programs that can help you record your information, including: When CSIWSE was launched in 2000, CSI's chapters had few options for creating an affordable, manageable website, and AEC Daily was pleased to assist them. Today's marketplace, however, presents CSI chapters with a variety of options, and most CSI chapters are availing themselves of those opportunities.

If you're currently using www.csiwse.org to host your CSI chapter website, one option we recommend you consider is CSI's new microsites for CSI chapters and regions. CSI microsites are FREE to CSI chapters and regions. They also:
  • Allow all the leaders in a chapter or region to login and edit their microsite, so that you can organize a team to manage your site
  • Require no HTML skills to create pages with pictures and links
  • Allows leaders to upload PDFs, Word documents, Excel files, etc.
  • Has built-in space for sponsorship ads that CSI leaders can manage
  • Uses the same login as CSI website, www.csinet.org - you can even have an area designated "members only"
  • Allows leaders to post events directly to CSI's national calendar as they post them to their microsite calendars
  • Integrates content into the search results of CSI's website
  • Are supported by CSI staff who are dedicated to the success of your chapter or region
Several chapters and regions are now setting up their microsites, including www.csigreatlakesregion.org and www.csimetronewyork.org.

CSI chapter and regions are not required to use the microsites. Leaders are encouraged to learn about this option so they know what tools are available to them through CSI.

CSI will demonstrate the microsites in a FREE webinar on July 14 at 2pm ET, email jdavis@csinet.org for an invitation or more information. To download slides and notes from presentations on planning a new website or moving from one website to another, visit demo.csinet.org or email jdavis@csinet.org.

CSI's web team is happy to discuss the microsites, as well as other options you may wish to consider depending on the needs of your chapter or region. Contact them at webmaster@csinet.org.
