As we go into the final month of the fiscal year we are all wrapping up the efforts for this past year.  There is the last minute planning for the final chapter meetings and there are also the final plans for any of you that are attending the National Convention in Indiana later in the month.

This has been year of transitions as we have seen many of our individual efforts be adjusted to work with the new realities of the current economic climate to the transition of the Institute from the pre-governance changes to the new rules and policies that are about to be put in place at the end of the month.

Our region has been very proactive in making this adjustment and the efforts that have been made by assorted committee members and task teams too numerous to list here will now begin to bear the fruit of their work.

At this time I would like to say a special thank you to the efforts of our outgoing Region President, Mr. Jose Guaty.  It has been his vision and willingness to get involved with the details at the region and institute level that have led the Southeast Region into the level of preparedness in which we find ourselves at this crossroad of the Institute.

My situation is finally stabilizing both on a professional and a personal level and I will be continuing the effort on behalf of the region as the new fiscal year begins in July.  There are still many issues and challenges to be confronted. The new Region Board will be defining their roles within the new guidelines as will the Institute Board.

This will be an exciting transition for CSI and I am looking forward to working with each of you as the year progresses.

Please do not hesitate to communicate with me on any issues that you think might be important to the Institute or to something that you think might make CSI be a difference for you personally and we can all go into the new year with a clear idea of where we are going.
