It is hard to believe that CSI FY 2010 has ended. The past several months have been a very active period with many CSI activities that will influence the future of the Region for FY 2011 and beyond.
The SE Region held a very successful Region Conference in Jacksonville in March. We had over 60 attendees, and the CSI Leadership was well represented with both incoming President-Elect Dennis Hall and incoming President-Elect Paul Bertram in attendance, along with Walt Marlowe and Joy Davis from the Institute office. SE Region Institute Director Wade Bevier was also in attendance and offered his vast wisdom and leadership to the conference. The feedback from the attendees on the Leadership programs and the Awards Banquet has been very positive. I want to thank Kris Benton for his efforts as Region Conference chair person, and the Jacksonville Chapter and District VP Bill Boehm for their efforts as well.
The election for the Institute Director Position also was conducted in March, and Joe Anetrella from the RDU/Triad Chapter was elected by a close vote. I want to personally congratulate Joe on his election and wish him the best of luck in his new position. I know the SE Region will be well represented at the Institute level.
The SE Region Board for FY 2011 is also now in place and ready to plan for next year. I want to thank everyone who participated in the Institute and Region elections.
I also recently attended the Institute Convention in Philadelphia, PA on May 11-14. The region was well represented. We conducted a spirited Caucus and discussed many issues with candor and passion. The Region Presidents also held a roundtable discussion and have opened a dialogue for future communications.
This is the last message from me, as my term as President ended on June 30th. I want to thank all of the wonderful people that have been involved with the SE Region this past year and pledge my support for Dianne Ehmann and the rest of the incoming SE Region Board for FY 2011. I have enjoyed my year as your President and remain very appreciative of the opportunity to be of service for the great organization that is CSI.
