I have been in CSI since my years in college as a student member. My professional practice professor was adamant that if we wanted to pass his course, we would become members and get involved. He was smart to insist on that and it is something that I have truly enjoyed over the years. I value the professional opinions and friendships developed through the many activities and events, local, regional and national.
I say that to say this. Now is the most important time for you to be involved in CSI. Times are tough and we need to keep our network together to make us stronger, more proficient, and professional. Some would say, “I can’t afford to be a member now”. Well, now is the most important time. The educational opportunities and certification programs are invaluable to help make us more knowledgeable, and consequently more marketable. The networks of friends we have in CSI are there to offer advice and lead to new opportunities. What else can I say? CSI is a great organization.
Your southeast region has been working hard on training and leadership opportunities at the upcoming region conference in Jacksonville on March 12 and 13. As we continue to develop the SE Region organization and leadership, conferences are the best way to share information on a “one to one” basis as well as group activities. The informal interaction with leaders in the built environment is priceless. Hope to see you in March.
