The Region Awards Night will be on Friday night and the Awards Committee has identified eighteen recipients to be recognized for their contributions to the southeast region. There will also be six recipients for the prestigious region director awards.
Region business will also take center stage at this conference since the region board will have the task at hand to restructure the region governance to meet the changes that are being implemented at the Institute level starting in FY10. As a member, your voice will be a valuable asset to the region leaders as they struggle to make some very hard business decisions on the 22nd of August. We also will have to make some decisions on leadership appointments that may involve many of you.
During our three mini leadership training session we conducted this year, we had been Requested to add some more navigational and Institute communication training to the sessions, so we will have on Saturday two sessions offered by Institute staff on how things work at the Institute level, how to communicate as a leader with the Institute, and how to navigate the leadership tool box along with new features that are about to be implemented.
The region will conduct a state of the region session followed by a town hall open session with the region members. At this town hall open session we will be able to gage and understand what you as members of the southeast region want from the region leadership and what programs we can implement to help you as members.
I hope to see you as you support your region by attending this important conference held in Orlando on the 21st to the 23rd of August.
